Curatorial Assistant Position Available | Women in Photography
Women in Photography, a project of Humble Arts Foundation, is seeking a curatorial assistant. Please see details below.
Administrative duties
Track and organize website email account daily
Respond to basic inquiries and forward important emails to curators
Assist in gathering show materials from artists and ensure that submissions have all necessary and correct information
Site Production
Produce monthly shows, following site standards
If interested, curatorial opportunities available
Skills needed
Excellent written and verbal communication
Photoshop, resizing for web, color profiling, etc
Basic blog or web production skills (Wordpress)
Must be reliable and able to work autonomously from home
Hours and Compensation
This is an unpaid internship
7-10 hours a week, from home

WIPNYC was launched in June of 2008 by Amy Elkins and Cara Phillips. As an internet-based project, WIPNYC is an outlet to exhibit work outside of the traditional model of the commercial art world, allowing it to reach a global audience. Mixing emerging photographers with artists that have achieved high levels of success within fine art and commercial worlds, the project is designed to be a resource for photographers, editors, curators, gallery owners, and viewers alike to discover and enjoy the work of female artists. WIPNYC presents a solo exhibition of work from select photographers every third Tuesday of the month. wipnyc.org
